I have two 4 oz. Twinings tins from the mid-1980s, still holding pens and pencils. The 100g tins are great for 3 x 5 index cards.

The index card idea is great. What are you using your index cards for?
The Twinings tins are great for pens, but for tea there are better ones. In Germany there used to be ‘Sir Winston’ tea, the tins were squary, but the lid was round, so the tin was airtight. What a shame I can’t get tins like that anymore. The closest match I’v seen are some tins form Fortnum & Mason.
